Learning About People Who Are Differently Abled - Helen Keller

Helen Keller is a great example of a woman who had many trials and difficulties in her life.  She was able to overcome those and find a different way to contribute to society with the help of family, friends, and teachers.

I've always found that teaching kids about people who are differently-abled, helps them to better understand that everyone has challenges and makes them think about being kinder and more understanding to everyone around them.
